![]() The most dominant Alpha is the pack leader and can be either male or female. The Alpha pair are responsible for leading the pack on hunts, establishing pack territory and its safety, accepting strangers into the pack or driving errant wolves out of the pack. They are responsible for keeping the pack in order and in control and will take many precautions to see that the pack is not disturbed. Each pack member is considered family but respect is still demanded. In roleplaying, the Alpha is always the first to eat from a kill, gets the biggest portions and choicest cuts of food and receives the best sleeping areas. They tell the pack what to do, where to go, and how to work without questions from their members. Keeping things at a strict basis is their way of showing their care and concern for the packmates.
![]() The Beta rank is the highest ranking wolf in the pack just below the Alpha. The Beta wolf is essentially the second-in-command of the wolf pack. When the Alpha's are absent (reasons for which could be surveying areas, choosing new territory, editing sites, etc), it is the Beta's job to make sure the pack is organized and under control. Any problems that occur in the pack, the Beta reports to the Alpha and allows the Alpha to take control. When the Alphas are indeed away for a time, the Beta is the next in authority and demands the same respect and control from their packmates as the Alpha pair receive.
![]() These wolves aren't really considered "of old age". This rank shows that they have been here and have done their hardest work to know everything about the pack. They are seen to the Alphas as responsible and are given more choices, such as: create their own packs in roleplaying or become "Substitute Wolves" when the Alphas are gone. They are able to watch over the pack and keep it in control until the Alphas return safely. They are nearly equal to the beta in terms of the amount of respect received. Though similar to a beta, Elders are marked by great intelligence and wisdom. Their advice is highly sought after by Alpha and other packmates alike. Also, they are not required to work as hard as the betas. When the alpha needs something done, they are less likely to ask an Elder to do it, unless they really want to help out.
![]() The Deltas are the guardians of the higher ranks. They protect the Alpha, Beta, Elders and even themselves from dangerous situations. They are expected to help keep an eye on things, come up with new ideas, and assist the other council members in making big decisions. The pack admires these warriors because of the service they provide for the pack. They are fearless, dominant, and worthy of receiving admiration from the Alpha. The Pack Council includes Deltas and all the higher ranks.
![]() These wolves are highly recognized by the Alphas and well respected by the rest of the pack, even feared. Their loyalty and compassion to the Alpha is without fail. When things go wrong, the Alpha or the Beta call on these wolves to help maintain the pack and keep it together. They are feared by the lower wolves and will take extreme measures to maintain the order of the pack. Think of them like the enforcers or the 'police'. Their ways are mysterious and shadowed but their fighting spirit is unmatched.
![]() Wolves such as these are under the Epsilon Wolves. They are the servants to the Epsilon's and assist them in supporting the Alphas and providing for the pack. If they sense a disturbance in the pack, they report it to the higher-ups and wait for their next order. These well-determined wolves do, of course, envy the Epsilon's yet still maintain their submission to their leaders.
![]() Gamma Wolves are adult wolves who the pack respects as "babysitters". They teach the young wolves and pups the ways of the pack, and generally protect them from higher-ups who grow grumpy at their antics.
![]() These are the wolves that usually reach their teenage years and are old enough to leave their pack to start a new one or stay where they currently are and help support the pack. This rank is the most to be noticed. And because of this, they are energetic and eager to earn the Alpha's attention. Moving past this rank depends upon their dedication and hard work.
![]() Although this rank is low, it's in no way looked down upon. Pups are the playful, adorable little bundles of fur that keep things lively. They are adored and looked after by all. Usually this rank is only given to someone if they want it. (Note: If you ask for this rank and later down the road decide you want to start advancing in the ranking system, just let me know and you'll be moved to Theta. ^^)
![]() The Omega has no authority in the pack and virtually no rights. Omega wolves do not partake in pack hunts. As the last allowed to feed from kills, these wolves get the leanest and worst portions of meat and typically risk starvation during poor hunting periods. Also, the Omega tends to be the one that is picked upon. Although they moved past the rank of "Scavengers", this Omega rank simply means they are in the pack and this will test their loyalty and commitment.
![]() These are wolves who have not been fully accepted into the pack yet. They follow the pack from a far away distance and after the pack's meal is finished, they eat what's left behind. These wolves have no rights whatsoever and are not allowed to participate in wolf activities. They cannot have information of the pack nor receive any news/updates/member info, etc. People are given this rank either because they have only posted once or twice and then disappeared, or because they have chosen to be a friend of the pack without technically joining. They are on hold until the Alphas approve and accept them into the pack.
![]() These wolves are not part of the pack, therefore have no rights whatsoever. They are the Alpha of another pack, who is friends of the Dark Wolf Pack. Though these wolves are not packmembers, they are respected, for if the pack were to come under attack, these wolves' packs would be the ones to help them, and vice-versa. |
